George P. Shepherd

LEOMINSTER --- George Patrick Shepherd, 86 years old, of Leominster, passed away on December 28, 2020, at his home. after a long battle with cancer.

George was born on March 13, 1934, in Bronx, N.Y; the son of Adam and Helen (Casey) Shepherd. 

George served in the United States Navy for 8 years, and was a veteran of Korea and Vietnam.

He married Diane (Colletti) Shepherd on April 7, 1956 and they have 4 children,

James Shepherd and his wife Kathy Shepherd of GA; Lori DiManno and her significant other Paul Landry of Leominster; Donna Clune and her significant other Donald Frasier of FL; and Scott Shepherd of Fitchburg. He also leaves 5 grandchildren: Jamie Erickson and her husband Nathan, Chelsey Burford and her husband Jason, Anthony DiManno, Caitlin Lanning and her husband Josh, and Kimberly DiManno, 3 great-grandchildren: Savannah Kychler, Hunter Lanning and Riley Lanning. He also leaves his sisters, Grace Giannettino, Maryellen Whitfield, his brothers, Adam Shepherd and Robert Shepherd and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister, Noreen Battistessa.  

George worked for Grandview Country Club as a golf professional and bartender for 28 years.

Calling hours for George will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2020 from 1~3pm in the Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West St. Leominster. Burial with military honors will be held at a later date, in Mass. Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon.
