Geraldine J. (Jeri) DiMassa
Owner of Colonial Florists, Leominster
Geraldine (Jeri) DiMassa, 69, of Leominster, died peacefully at home Thursday, December 3, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Leominster, Jeri was the daughter of Lillian (Pallotta) and Fred DiMassa. She cherished her two sisters and brother, Marylin DiMassa, with whom she lived, Carleen and her husband Jeff O’Neill and Carl DiMassa all of Leominster. Jeri was dedicated to her uncle and aunt, Vincent and Marion Pallotta of Leominster. She was the adored aunt of Erin (O’Neill) Wholey, Kellie (O’Neill) Kozloski, Jeffrey O’Neill, Nicole (DiMassa) Mezzadri and Darren DiMassa. Jeri also leaves many wonderful grand nieces and nephews, with whom she spent so much time and shared her many talents.
Jeri’s family was the center of her life and she was happiest surrounded by their effusive love. She grew up in an Italian family always bustling with excitement, laughter and large, loud family meals. Her artistic passion drove her to become an art teacher in the Leominster School system and that, combined with her love for her family, led her to join her parents in their business at Colonial Florists, which operated for 76 years. There, she carried on her parents’ love of community and helping others, as she chatted with and came to know her customers as friends.
Jeri glowed when she was doing things for others. She was a proud member of the Montachusett Chorale and enjoyed helping raise funds for many local organizations.
If you wish, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Montachusett Chorale, 187 Lancaster Street, Leominster, MA 01453.
Please come celebrate Jeri’s life at her funeral mass, Saturday, December 12 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anna Church, 194 Lancaster Street, Leominster, MA.
