Gerard E. “Jerry” Thomas, 78 years old, of Leominster, passed peacefully at Oakdale Rehab & Nursing facility in West Boylston on October 27th, after a lengthy illness.
Born and raised in Shirley to Albert and Cecile (Blanchette) Thomas. He graduated from Ayer High School and received an Associate Degree from Fisher Junior College. He worked at Foster Grant Company for 18 years. NEC Technologies and various computer companies in the area as a Master Scheduler.
Jerry had a kind and gentle disposition who loved his family above all else. He enjoyed skiing and participated in bowling and golf leagues and organized a golf gala event each year which he enjoyed planning and attending.
He is survived by his wife, Gail (Grenier) Thomas of 53 years, his daughter, Kimberly Thomas of Leominster, his son Scott Thomas of Chelmsford, nephew Scott Biorseth and his wife Renee, and nieces Holly Biorseth, Sally Snider and Cheryl Mullin .
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Donald Thomas, and sisters Nancy Borseth and Carol McGeachy.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Betterhome Home Care, Oakdale Rehab & Nursing, ARA Leominster Dialysis, Notre Dame Hospice and Dr. Stephen Hoenig and staff for the wonderful care given to him during his illness.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 4th, from 4 to 6 pm in the Richardson Funeral Home 106 West St. Leominster. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 6th at Apple Hill Farm, Joslin Street, Leominster from 12 to 2 pm. Burial will be private.
