Gilda Simeoni Obituary

Gilda Grace Simeoni, 97, passed away at Lankenau Medical Center on December 29, 2024. Gilda was born February 22, 1927 in Leominster, daughter of Michele and Angelina (Gorgoglione) Chiumento. Gilda was a graduate of Leominster High School and Stevens Business School.

She was a professional homemaker, in addition to holding several part time positions. She loved to bowl, swim and volunteer at a nursing home. Her true passion was raising a family and entertaining family and friends.

Even though she had not lived in Leominster since the early 1950’s Leominster was always close to her at heart. She loved visiting Leominster family and friends as much as possible. She maintained lifelong friendships with her high school buddies Kitty Bilotta and Lorraine Padavano.

Gilda was married to Louis, who passed away in May 2016, for 66 years. Predeceasing Gilda was her daughter Kathryn, who passed away in 2022. Gilda leaves her son Stephen (Sharon), daughter Christine, grandchildren Leslie (Kent), Elizabeth and Matthew (Deborah), great grandchildren Julain and Gabriel; and, siblings Diana Perkins and Christopher (Ann) Chiumento and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will occur at St. Anna Church, 199 Lancaster St, MA on January 3, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Following visitation there will be a Mass, officiated by Father Stephen Mullaney, in celebration of Gilda’s life. Burial at St. Leo’s Cemetery, 360 Lancaster St, Leominster will occur immediately thereafter.
