Irene Proietti Obituary

Irene G. Proietti (Howard), a lifelong resident of Leominster, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, at the age of 95. She was born on July 12, 1929, in Leominster, where she would go on to lead a life marked by kindness, community service, and a love for family and friends.

After graduating from Leominster High School in 1947, Irene dedicated herself to a career in office work and human services. She took pride in her roles within the City of Leominster, where she served in both the Welfare Department and the Veteran Department. Irene's work ethic and commitment to helping others reflected the heart of a woman who always put the well-being of her community first. Irene's personal life was just as rich and fulfilling as her professional one. She was a member of the Leominster Senior Center, AARD, Golden Ages as well as St. Anna Parish.

Her passion for gardening allowed her to cultivate not only beautiful spaces but also meaningful connections with those who shared her interest. Irene's energy and zest for life were evident in her love for line dancing, a hobby that brought her immense joy and kept her spirit vibrant. She is lovingly remembered by her family, who were the cornerstone of her life.

Irene was the devoted mother to her daughter, Linda I. Andries (predeceased 2008) and her husband Gary of Leominster, sons, Thomas H. Proietti and his wife Carol of West Boylston, and David J. Proietti and his wife Laura of Sterling. She cherished her role as a grandmother to her five grandchildren, Nicole Andries, Nicholas Andries, Ashley Proietti, Andrew Proietti, Emily Proietti, and great granddaughter Alexandra Belisto, each of whom brought her immeasurable happiness. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J. Proietti "Deedsie".

The legacy of her kindhearted nature and nurturing spirit lives on through her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Those who knew Irene will remember her for her unwavering kindness, her generous heart, and her ability to bring warmth and comfort to any room. Irene's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the impact one person can have on a community.

She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, service, and joy will endure in the hearts of those who loved her.
