Leominster – Ivan J. LeBlanc, 77, survived a courageous yearlong battle with cancer only to succumb to an unrelated and unexpected passing on January 14, 2024.
Ivan was born September 26, 1946, in Bouctouche, Canada, son of Edward and Stella (Caissie) LeBlanc. He was a 1966 graduate of Leominster High School, where he soon after began his lifelong career as a general contractor and builder. Ivan started Phoenix construction, a successful business where he spent his days devoted to his career, alongside his son Mark for over 30 years.
Ivan loved sports and was a lifelong fan of Holy Cross Basketball, the New York Yankees, and the Boston Celtics. In his free time, he had a passion for working out, doing puzzles, and playing intense games of family pool, while listening to his favorite songs. Ivan was a gentle, kind family orientated man, being a devoted husband, loving father, and the proudest Grampy.
All who had the pleasure of knowing Ivan would agree that he loved deeply and brought light and laughter everywhere he went, all with a smile on his face.
Ivan was predeceased by his parents, brother Roger LeBlanc, and brother-in-law John Cotton.
He leaves the love of his life, his wife of 55 years, Paula (Vaillette) LeBlanc, two daughters Christine “Crissy” Martin, her husband Mark and their son Colt of Sterling, Tracie Tresaloni, her husband Greg, and their two daughters Gabriella and Chloe of Leominster, son Mark LeBlanc and wife Jackie of Leominster, three sisters Doris Small of Winchendon, Muriel Cotton of Leominster, and Lisa Mueller of Leominster, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 22 from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Donations can be made to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Ivan's name.
