James A. Angelini

James "Jim" Angelini, 82, of Leominster, passed away peacefully at home on June 7, 2026, following a courageous battle with urothelial cancer.

Born on August 20, 1943, in Clinton, Massachusetts, Jim was the son of Rocco and Quintina Angelini. He was raised in Leominster, where he graduated from Leominster High School in 1961. It was during those years that he met the woman who would become his partner in everything, Nancy Rogers, whom he would go on to marry and share 59 years of life with.

After high school, Jim pursued his education at St. Bonaventure University and later at Franklin Pierce College before proudly enlisting in the United States Army. His natural leadership and quiet determination did not go unnoticed. He was selected for Officer Candidate School and ultimately earned the rank of Lieutenant, a distinction that reflected the character he carried with him for the rest of his life.

Jim went on to build a long and accomplished career as a Certified Machine Tool Sales Engineer, though at a certain point he paused to finish something that had stayed with him. Years into his professional life, he returned to Franklin Pierce to complete the requirements for his Bachelor’s degree, determined to finish what he had started. It was the kind of quiet resolve that defined him. He spent many dedicated years with M&H Engineering in Danvers, bringing, the same precision and professionalism to his work that he brought to everything he touched, continuing in that role until illness necessitated his retirement in March 2026.

Beyond his career, Jim was a man of deep loyalties and wide-ranging passions. He was a proud member of the Leominster Sportsmen's Club, and his Tuesday morning coffee gatherings with fellow sportsmen were a ritual he treasured. An avid skier, he gave generously of his time and expertise to the sport he loved, serving in various capacities at local mountains including Pheasant Run and Wachusett Mountain, where he worked as both an instructor and a ranger.

Few things stirred Jim's competitive spirit quite like New England Patriots football. As a season ticket holder for more than 25 years, he was present for some of the most memorable moments in the team's storied history, experiencing them from his seat at Gillette Stadium. That same love of the game led him to give back to it as well. For more than 40 years, Jim served as a high school football referee affiliated with the North Central Massachusetts Board of Officials, a commitment that spoke volumes about who he was.

Jim was a Leominsterite through and through, but there was a second place that held his heart: Ogunquit, Maine. Each summer, he and Nancy returned to the Hillcrest Resort, where Jim eventually served as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Ogunquit was where time slowed down in the best possible way. He loved the morning walks along Marginal Way, the easy hours spent relaxing on the front porch, and the annual Lobsterfest he hosted each August for friends and neighbors. And then there were the Uno games with his grandsons, fierce and spirited affairs in which Matthew, Nicholas, and Benjamin occasionally, and generously, allowed their grandfather to win.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, Rocco and Quintina Angelini. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy; his daughter, Lisa Angelini and her partner James McCorkle both of Newburyport; his son, Marc Angelini, and daughter-in-law Christine Angelini, of Foxboro; and his three grandsons, Matthew, Nicholas, and Benjamin Angelini, all of Foxboro.

He will be remembered as a man who showed up, whether on the sidelines of a high school football field on a cold Friday night, on the slopes in the early morning hours, in a stadium full of roaring fans, or on a porch in Ogunquit watching the summer go by with the people he loved most.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 13 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Richardson Funeral Home. A service will follow at 12:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.
