James Ashe Obituary

James P. Ashe, age 81, passed away December 20, 2023 at UMass Memorial Hospital Worcester, MA.

Jim was born and raised in Leominster, MA. He attended Julie Country Day, St. Bernard’s and Leominster High where he graduated in 1961. He attained a Master Electrician’s License, was a member of I.B.E.W Local 96 Worcester and 296 Fitchburg where he was Vice President of the Local. He was a member of the Leominster School Committee, a member of Oak Hill Country Club Fitchburg where he enjoyed golf and Co-owner and Treasurer of Scoreboards Bar and Grill. Jim enjoyed his family, socializing with friends, cooking, traveling to Maine, fishing as well as antiquing. He loved going to estate sales, auctions and flea markets. He enjoyed finding pieces of history. His family especially his grandchildren were very dear to him.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Philip and Emilia (Millie) Ashe, his daughter Katherine Donahue, a grandson Nathan Donahue. He is survived by his wife of 50 years K. Geraldine (Sproul), daughter Corry Anne Ashe, Son in Law Kevin Donahue, his beloved grandchildren Aidan Donahue, Jaylynn and Stephon Pridgen and two children from a previous marriage Lisa Bakstran and family and Christopher Ashe and family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 3 from 4:00-6:00 P.M. A service will be held on Thursday, January 4 at 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Leo Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a family fund in care of Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West St Leominster, MA 01453 to assist his grandchildren’s college funding which was very important to him.
