Jane A. (Cote) Fini

Jane Ann (Cote) Fini ascended to glory peacefully on May 17, 2022, with her children around her. She always thought of others before herself and dedicated her life to her family and Catholic faith.  

Jane was born in Leominster MA on June 12, 1937, to Lester R. Cote and Catherine M. Sullivan. Jane tragically lost her mother when she was 8 years old, and was lovingly raised by Lester, his sister Lillian, and Lester’s second wife Dorothy. Lester was blessed with more children who were raised alongside the Fini kids almost as siblings. 

After graduating from Leominster HS, she enrolled in the Newton Wellesley School of Nursing where she received her degree in 1957. She married Herbert Fini in 1959 after a long courtship where she developed a special relationship with her mother-in-law Cesira. She served in the operating room at Leominster hospital for 3 years until the birth of her second child. After spending 23 years raising her children in Lunenburg MA, she began a second career as the head clinic nurse for Digital Equipment Company in Westminster, MA. After retiring from Digital in 1993, a job she truly loved, she moved to Vero Beach, FL with her husband Herb where she was a member of the Military Mom’s Prayer Group. Jane spent many years volunteering for the ladies’ church guild, teaching children's catechism, and lending a helping hand to those in need wherever she found them. She will be sorely missed but we know she is sending us all “Love and Prayers” from Heaven. 

Jane was preceded in death by her father Lester, mother Catherine, stepmother Dorothy and brother William Cote. She is survived by her husband Herbert Fini (89) of Vero Beach FL, son James and his wife Kati, daughter Catherine Pedro and her husband Steve, daughter Maria Beck and her husband Ken, daughter Marianne Fini and son-in-law David Plourde, son Robert Fini and his wife Anne, daughter Sarah Kane and son-in-law John Kane. Jane also leaves 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Norma Boyson, Reyne Booth, Frances Sage and brother Lester Cote. 

Calling hours will be held at the Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West St. Leominster on Tuesday, May 24 from 4-7pm. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 25 at 10 am at St. Anna’s Church, 194 Lancaster St. Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Leos Cemetery, Leominster.
