Janet Erickson Obituary

Fitchburg- Janet M. (Evans) Erickson, 89, formerly of Caspian Way, Fitchburg, died October 4, at River Terrace Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Janet was born August 15, 1932, in Portland, Maine, daughter of the late Clayton and Alice (Barnicle) Evans. She graduated from Cony High School in Maine in 1951 and from Fitchburg State College in 1955. Janet held various teaching positions including Thomas C. Passios School in Lunenburg, Ashburnham Street School and Reingold School where she concluded her teaching career retiring in 1991. Following her retirement, she and her husband enjoyed antiquing, golfing, traveling and dining out.

Her husband, Gordon Erickson, died in 2014. She was also predeceased by her son in law, Brian Tisdale and her brother, Donald Evans.

She leaves her children, Ann Tisdale of Gardner, David Hoffman and wife Rosemary of Fitchburg and James Hoffman and wife Anna, of VA; her step children, Bruce Erickson and wife Jeanne of Westminster, Brian Erickson and wife Deborah of FL, Mark Erickson and wife Diane of Lunenburg, Marcia Levesque and husband Joe of Lunenburg, David Erickson and wife Lisa of Westminster, Dawn Burns and husband Jamie and Mary Ellen Dolan and husband Jeff of Princeton; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be announced.

Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West St., Leominster is assisting the family with arrangements.
