Janice M. (Santucci) Bernier

Janice M. (Santucci) Bernier, 88, passed away peacefully in her hometown on Thursday, May 22, 2025 in the presence of loving family.

Janice was born in Leominster on September 29, 1936, the daughter of the late Amedio Santucci and Rose (Ricci) Santucci and sister to the late Joseph Santucci of Leominster.  She is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Richard Bernier also of Leominster.

Janice leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly.  She is survived by her children Scott Bernier and wife Mary (Hebert) Bernier of Naples, Florida, and daughters Laura Brooks and husband Charles of Marlborough and Sarah DeCarolis and husband Stephen of Leominster. She was also a doting grandmother to Charles and Julia Brooks and Anthony and Richard DeCarolis.

A graduate of Leominster High School, Janice went on to pursue a career in dental hygiene, graduating from the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene in Boston. She worked as a dental hygienist in Leominster for many years caring for patients until her well-deserved retirement.

Janice loved music and was an accomplished piano player who graced friends and family with her musical talents over the years. Her love for music was matched by her enthusiasm for sports, particularly tennis; which she played for many years. She was a regular attendee at her children’s and grandchildren’s many baseball, softball and hockey games, and served as an active member of the Leominster Blue Devils Sports Club. She was also a loyal Red Sox fan.  

Janice found great joy in cooking and baking throughout her life and was a welcoming hostess who made every holiday and event feel special. She loved spending time with her family and friends and was a devoted companion to her dog Oscar. She also enjoyed reading and playing cards and was a regular member of her weekly bridge groups.

Janice’s family would like to thank the caring professionals at Leominster Crossings Assisted Living and Ascend Hospice for their compassionate care and support.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 28 from 10am - 12pm at Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West Street Leominster, MA with burial to follow in St Leo’s Cemetery.
