Lancaster- Jeannette (LeBlanc) Legere, 88, of Lancaster, died Monday, May 8, at UMass Memorial, surrounded by her family, after a short illness.
Jeannette was born October 31, 1934, in MacDougall, New Brunswick, daughter of the late Alphonse and the late Euphiminie (Gaudet) LeBlanc. After moving to Leominster, Jeannette worked in quality control for Clear Shield. She dedicated many hours to Leominster Pop Warner as everyone’s Memere, serving up her famous breakfast sandwiches. Playing cards on Sunday with the ladies was not to be missed.
She leaves her husband of 67 years, Desire Legere; two children, Huguette and husband Romano Stragliotto and Michael Legere and wife Donna; four siblings, Francis LeBlanc, Camille LeBlanc, Clarence LeBlanc and Leola Bourque; daughter in law, Lisa Legere; several grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, David, who passed away in 2015
The funeral Mass will be held Saturday, May 20, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia’s Church, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster. Burial will be private.
