Joachim Kofi Agyei

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joachim Kofi Adjei, a remarkable young man who touched the lives of many during his 17 years on earth. Joachim peacefully departed this world on Thursday, November 14, 2024, after a courageous seven-year battle with cancer.

Born on November 17, 2006, Joachim was a bright light to all who knew him. Despite his struggles, he faced life with unwavering strength, grace, and a smile that could brighten the darkest days. He was a loving son, a cherished brother, a wonderful cousin, and a true friend to many.

Joachim possessed a deep love for learning. His intelligence was evident to everyone who knew him. His passion for life was evident in his determination to live fully, even in the face of adversity. He inspired those around him with his kindness, generosity, wisdom beyond his years, and a determined spirit that reminded us all to cherish every moment.

He is survived by his parents, Obaapanyin Konadu (aka Nana Yaa), Dickson Yaw Konadu, Hanson, his sibling, Justice Kweku Asante, Jr., and a host of extended family and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. Joachim’s journey, though challenging, was marked by love, resilience, and the unwavering support of his loved ones.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the medical teams, caregivers, and friends who walked this journey with Joachim, offering hope and comfort along the way.

A celebration of Joachim's life will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 9:00 am at Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster, MA 01453. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center Oncology Clinic in memory of Joachim Kofi Agyei at UMass Memorial Health, Office of Philanthropy, 365 Plantation Street, Biotech One – Suite 301, Worcester, MA 01605.

Though Joachim’s time with us was far too brief, his legacy of courage, love, and hope will endure in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in perfect peace.
