LEOMINSTER --- Joan Carol (Murphy) Wyman, 82 years old of Leominster, died Wednesday, January 23, 2019 in UMass Memorial - University Campus, Worcester.
Carol was born December 16, 1936 in Marlborough, MA, a daughter of John K. Murphy and Mildred V. (Naugler) Murphy, and was a lifelong Leominster resident. She leaves 2 sons, David G. Wyman of Templeton, Donald L. Wyman and wife Lori of Leominster; daughter, Debra Ingraham and husband Carl of Brookline NH; 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, David G. “Lefty” Wyman in 2013, and her brother Kenneth Murphy.
Carol graduated from Leominster High School in 1955. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Leominster, where she taught Sunday School. She was also a Cub Scout den mother. Carol was employed for many years as a planner at DEC (Digital Equipment Corporation). She loved spending time with and taking care of her grandchildren. She loved to make people smile, doing crafts, playing cribbage, singing, loved the beach and eating tootsie rolls.
Carol’s funeral will be held on Saturday, January 26th from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St. Leominster, with a 10 am funeral service in St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 60 West St. Leominster. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday, January 25th from 5- 7 pm.
