John Logan Obituary

FITCHBURG ----- John A. “Jack” Logan, 86 years old of Fitchburg, died Friday, September 30, 2016 in Oakdale Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center, West Boylston .

Jack was born October 8, 1929 in Fitchburg, the only child of John M. Logan and Agnes (Norval) Logan. He leaves his wife of 68 years, Arlene T. (Mullan) Logan, four sons, John Logan of Center Lovell, ME, James Logan of Manchester, VT, William Logan and his wife Dale of Leominster and Jeffrey Logan of Greenville, NH, his three daughters, Kathleen Martin and her husband Terry of Orford, NH, Linda Widner and her husband Kelly of Charleston, SC, and Bethann Fatcheric and husband Tim of Princeton, nine grandchildren Timothy Martin, Megan Vile, Jessica Roberts, Hannah Widner, Andrew Fatcheric Heather Fatcheric, Ethan Fatcheric, Brittney Logan and Aidan Logan and four great- grandchildren.

Jack graduated from Fitchburg High School in the Class of 1947. He worked for over 42 years in various management positions at Simonds Saw & Steel Company in Fitchburg, retiring to Venice, Florida for 19 years, returning to Fitchburg in 2005. He was a member of NORCO Sportsman’s Club, enjoyed traveling, playing golf, hunting, gunsmithing and loved to read. He was very proud of his Scottish Heritage.

The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Oakdale Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center, for the outstanding care and compassion given to Jack and his family.

A funeral service for Jack will be held on Tuesday, October 4, at 11 am in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home 106 West St. Leominster. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. A calling hour will precede the funeral from 9:30 am- 11 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made In Memory of Jack Logan to Oakdale Rehabilitation Center, 76 North Main St. West Boylston MA 01583, and to N.E.A.D.S P.O. Box 1100 Princeton, MA 01541.
