John K. Petterson

LEOMINSTER – John Karl Petterson, 72, passed away on April 18, 2025, at Leominster Hospital in Leominster, Massachusetts. A longtime resident of Stow, John dedicated 29 years to his community and career as an independent distributor and business owner.

Born on February 26, 1953, in Waltham, Massachusetts, to Birgit E. (Borg) Petterson and Gerhard G.W. Petterson, John lived a life characterized by love, devotion, and hard work. For 27 years, he served as an independent distributor of Pepperidge Farm Bread products in Middlesex County, where he built strong relationships and worked very hard to provide for his family.

A passionate supporter of New England sports, John was a dedicated fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. In his free time, he found joy in reading novels and tending to his garden, embracing life’s simple pleasures. But more than anything, he was a devoted and loving father, a caring husband, and a cherished friend. John had a wonderful sense of humor and a kind; welcoming presence that made everyone feel at ease.

John is survived by his wife, Laura Petterson; his three children, Karl, Linnea, and Jace; and his grandchildren, Charlie Petterson and Rylan Turnbaugh. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Ingrid Juditz Petterson residing in Arizona, along with many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a memorial service on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:15 PM at Richardson Funeral Home in Leominster, Massachusetts. A Celebration of Life will follow at O`Connors Restaurant & Bar, 1160 W. Boylston St. Worcester MA. from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

John’s kindness, generosity, and laughter will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, joy, and hard work will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
