Jolissaint Desir (affectionally called, Pere Desir, Commandant De, Onondieu) 79, of Shirley, MA went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 27, 2020 @ 2:30 pm at St Vincent Hospital, Worcester, MA after a short health declining. Pere Desir was born in Pont-Sonde- Dessouliers, Saint-Marc, Haiti on December 6, 1940 son of Fabius Desir and Elize Jolissaint who preceded him in death.
Jolissaint was a retired Officer from the Haitian Armed Forced from 1971 – 1991. He immigrated to the United States in 1995 and became a US Citizen in June 2018. Upon his arrival in the United States, he gave his life to Christ at Morija Church, Seventh Day Adventist in East Orange, NJ and was a member there until he moved to Massachusetts in 2004 to stay with his adored daughter Hernande & husband Clausel and helped raised his grandchildren, Hendel and Hernyde.
He was a member at Gethsemane (Haitian Church of Seventh Day Adventist) in Leominster until his passing. He was a devoted Christian who loved Christ and tried his best to serve him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, cousin, friend. He leaves to cherish his memories, his lovely wife Immacula (Metellus) of 48 years, and lovely children: Guerda Desir of Haiti; Hernande (husband Clausel Laurole) of Shirley, MA; Jean-Junior Desir (wife Wisna E.) of Haiti, Rachelle (husband Philippe Joseph) of Florida, Minoucheka (husband Samuel Thenor) of New Jersey; and Gregory (wife Esther M. ) of Haiti. His grandchildren: Lensy Costume, Marc Arshley Desir, Claude-Hendel Laurole, Hernyde B. Laurole, Kwest Desir, Jahmal Desir, Aleandro Louis, Eureka Desir, Ryan Joseph, Cedric M. Desir & Emma Desir. His great grandchild: Julensky Anastal. He is survived by his brothers: Antoine, Sauveur, Onondieu & Rosemond of Haiti. And many cousins, nephews & nieces.
You will be missed by many and remembered by all.
A private funeral service will be held at New Life Church, Leominster & Burial at Village Cemetery in Shirley, MA with close family due to the current circumstances’ surroundings the COVID-19.
A Celebration of Jolissaint life will be announced at a later date so that friends and family may attend.
