Jordan Barry Fishman, born on January 26, 1958, passed away unexpectedly on October 11, 2025, after a sudden health emergency.
Jordan was a brilliant man, demonstrating exceptional intelligence and drive. He graduated high school at the remarkable age of 16 and achieved two PhDs by his mid-20s. While pursuing his graduate studies, he started a small business, building and selling his own stereo speakers, showcasing both his entrepreneurial spirit and creativity.
A talented musician, Jordan could play the piano, guitar, and drums. He was also an avid and highly competitive poker player, considering his poker friends to be his second family. His passion for the game and personality endeared him to many.
Dr. Jordan Fishman, a pioneering biochemist, founded 21st Century Biochemicals in 2003, leading its growth into a respected provider of peptides, antibodies, and epigenetic tools. With academic rigor and entrepreneurial vision, he advanced biochemical manufacturing through leadership roles at QCB and 21st Century. His legacy endures in the researchers and institutions he empowered, and in the continued impact of the company he built. Fishman’s work fostered innovation across the United States and Europe.
Jordan was predeceased by his father David Fishman. He is survived by his mother, Ethel Fishman; his brother, Stuart, his sister in law Lisa; his sister Melyssa Mello; son Mark Fishman and Daughter in law Sandy Smith and several nieces and nephews. Jordan found love again in his mid 60s. The memories he created with his fiancée, Linda Swears, will be cherished. Together, they enjoyed many poker adventures, attended concerts, shared romantic movie dates, and cheered on his beloved teams: the Tennessee Volunteers, Boston Red Sox, and New England Patriots.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Jordan, Sunday November 2, 2025, at the 110 Grill, 207 Mill Street in Leominster MA, please stop by between 1pm and 4pm to share a memory, tears, and hugs.
