Leominster-------Joseph G. Ashey Sr., 92, of Leominster, passed away peacefully on February 28. Joseph was born in Leominster, MA on July 15, 1931, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Thomas) Ashey.
Joe joined the Army in 1948 after graduating from Leominster High School. He was a longtime tractor trailer driver in the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed sky diving, archery, camping, playing cards, golfing and was a licensed pilot, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Joe was predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Jean M. (Kearney) Ashey, as well as 17 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his son Joseph G. Ashey Jr., daughter Cheryl Dellogono and husband Tom, grandchildren, Amy Dellogono, Sheri Dellogono, Michael Dellogono & wife Diana, 2 great grandchildren Nico & Rocco.
At his request, funeral services and burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sterling Animal Shelter.
