LEOMINSTER---Joseph L. Carbone, Sr., 92 years old, of Leominster, formerly of Clinton, died on Tuesday, July 6, 2017. He is survived by his daughter Dianne L. Cummings and her husband Gary of Fitchburg, son Joseph L. Carbone, Jr. and his wife Debi of Leominster, sister Catherine Dilling of Berlin, 7 grandchildren Corrie Carbone-Patricelli and her husband Patrick, Joseph Carbone III, Jaime Carbone, Nicholas Carbone, Amy Miller and her husband David, Chris Savage and his wife Michelle and Andy Cummings, 4 great grandchildren Nicholas Savage, Jacob Savage, Max Miller and Ben Miller. He was predeceased by 3 brothers Anthony Carboni, Raphael Carboni and Julio Carboni and a sister Stella Sabonatis.

Joseph was born in Clinton on October 24, 1924, son of Alberto and Jennie (DeGenova) Carboni. He lived in Clinton until moving to Leominster 3 ½ years ago where he lived with Joey and Debi who felt honored to take care of this marine as his health failed. He was a World War II U.S. Marine Corp Veteran who once stormed the beach of Iwo Jima. "Semper Fi" dad. Joseph had owned and operated Carbone & Son Trucking Company in Clinton. He will be missed by all who loved him.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11 am in St. Anna’s Church, 194 Lancaster Street, Leominster. Burial with military honors will be in St. Leo’s Cemetery, Leominster. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 24, 100 West Street, Leominster, MA 01453.
