Joseph F. Cormier, 69, of Holly Ridge NC died Monday, May 30 at Onslow Hospital in Jacksonville, NC after an illness.
Joe was born March 24, 1953 in Fitchburg, MA. the son of the late Joseph F. Cormier & Mirian (Abel) Cormier.
He leaves behind is wife, Vicki (Falcone) Cormier of nearly 31 years and 4 children, step daughter Sarah Warner of Leominster, step son Allen Warner of Fitchburg, daughter Cheryl Cormier of Holly Ridge, NC and son Ryan Cormier of Hampton Beach, NH. He also leaves his 6 grandchildren who he loved with all his heart, Bradley, Andrew, Eric, Skyla, Liah and little Joe.
Joe “Butch” as known to family, is survived by his brother Dennis & wife Maureen Cormier of Texas, his brother John & wife Gaile Cormier of Florida, his sister Jody & husband Pete Michaud of NH, his sister Jill & husband Don Marchesseault of NH and brother Danny of MA. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and close friends. He is predeceased by his brother Richard Cormier.
He lived most of his life in Fitchburg, just moving to NC a month ago. Joe was an electrician by trade but was a “jack of all trades”. He loved to work with his hands. He worked at numerous plastic factories in Leominster MA. He worked at Mohawk Wire & Cable for 16 years, a job he so enjoyed.
He loved the water, boating was his passion, he was in his glory when he was at the helm. He was also an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed his “Harley”, he loved to ride, especially with his buddy Ed.
He was a huge Boston sports fan, he & his wife hosted many Patriot parties. Most of all, he enjoyed being around his family.
A celebration of life will be held on June 25th at 6:00 pm in the community hall at Town & Country, 65 Carriageway Drive, Fitchburg MA.
