Joshua D. Hamel

Joshua D. Hamel, 52 years old of Fitchburg died unexpectedly, on July 21, 2023 in Health Alliance Leominster Hospital, after being stricken ill at home.

Josh was born November 12, 1970 in Boston MA, the son of the late Edward Hamel and Barbara (Rukas) Hamel. He leaves his sister, Allison Kimball of Fitchburg. and several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous lifelong friends.

Josh graduated from Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical High School (Monty Tech) in 1989, from the Plant Maintenance Program. He worked for Adesa and Manhiem Auto Auctions and was a longtime salesman at RTE 2 Hyundai in Leominster.

Josh enjoyed car racing and when he was younger even raced his own cars. He was a master negotiator; buying and selling all sorts of items, he loved the hunt for collectibles. He liked playing cards at the casino, playing video games with friends, watching movies and going for rides on his Harley with friends. Josh was genuine, had a great sense of humor and was always a lot of fun to be around.

Calling hours for Josh will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Richardson Funeral Home from 5;00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., 106 West St. Leominster.

A private burial will be held at a later date. Please omit flowers, donations to the family can be left at the funeral home.
