Juliana H. Mueller, daughter of the late William Mueller and Martha Röst Mueller, died peacefully on December 31, 2021, at the age of 84 in Leominster, Massachusetts. Born and raised in Rochester, NY, she was a dental hygienist for 48 years and earned her BS in regional planning at Westfield State College in 1985. Juliana was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Edwin Mueller and Ronald Mueller, and her nephew Peter. She is survived by her children Jane Pilecki, Mary Pilecki, Jack (Jean) Pilecki, Rita (James) Tournas, Henry (Wendy) Connors, and Joseph (Kate) Connors, as well as 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Annette, and several cousins, a niece, and nephews.
Known to most as Julie, she was a curious, intelligent, and open-minded person who loved talking to her patients and friends and could make a stranger feel welcome in minutes. An avid reader, she found audio books in her later years and loved learning about history. She resided for 35 years in Blandford, Massachusetts, where she was active with the town as the Chairman of the Planning Board, Chairman of the Board of Assessors, and was committed to the Council on Aging, finding it a place to continue her learning and expanding her large group of friends. Julie donated her car to the COA when she could no longer drive, and it has been used to transport seniors in Blandford to receive vaccinations, get groceries, to doctors’ appointments, and other errands. Julie was consulted regularly after her retirement from the town on planning issues through 2021. She particularly loved knitting socks for friends and family. She brought joy and a sense of humor to everyone she met – and was always surrounded by love.
