Justin Paul Obara, 35, left this world much too soon on July 17, 2024. Born on October 18, 1988 in Leominster, Massachusetts, Justin chased adventure, with a love for life and an infectious smile that brightened the lives of all who knew him. He passed away peacefully in Boston with his mother and brother at his side. His family and friends are profoundly saddened by this sudden loss.
He leaves behind his mother, Heidi Fischer of Lunenburg; his brother, Crit Obara and sister-in-law, Stephanie of Boston; his father, Paul Obara of Leominster; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends; and his beloved dog, Bronson. Justin also leaves behind an extended family, fondly referred to as his second family, who loved him dearly and will deeply miss him.
A 2007 graduate of Lunenburg High School, Justin's professional journey was marked by his tenure at GNC, Whole Foods, and Target, where he was not just a manager, but a fun person to work with. His work ethic and natural ability to connect with people made him a valued colleague and friend to many.
Beyond his professional endeavors, sports were Justin's true passion in life. He was the captain of both the golf and tennis teams in high school. He played dekhockey for many years, winning awards as the league's best goalie and participating on travel teams. As an adult, Justin played semi-pro and flag football with an intensity that inspired his teammates.
Justin's dedication to fitness was apparent to anyone who knew him. His involvement in crossfit was not just about personal goals; it was about community. He loved spending hours at the gym with friends, challenging and pushing each other to be better.
Often called the “life of the party,” to say that Justin lived life to the fullest would be an understatement. The memories of his humor, laughter, pranks and backflips will continue to bring joy to the lives of his family, friends, colleagues, and all who were privileged to know him.
Justin's journey on earth may have been brief, but the impact he made will endure. As we say goodbye to Justin, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Visitation and memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 24 from 4-6pm with a service at 6:00 at Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster.
