Katherine J. (Favreau) Ricco, 77 of Leominster, formerly of West Springfield, MA, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday April 29, 2017 after a long illness. She was born in Holyoke, MA on April 22, 1940 to the late Louis J. and Lillian (Griffin) Favreau. Kathy graduated from St. Jerome High School in 1958. She was employed by Steiger’s Department Store for many years and Family Medicine Associates before retiring in 2002.

Kathy is predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Samuel A. Ricco, who passed away in 2011. She leaves behind her daughter, Nancy A. (Ricco) Fioretti and her husband Paul of Leominster, MA and son, Samuel J. Ricco and his wife Alison of Norton, MA; 4 grandchildren, Ryan and Alex Fioretti; and Julia and Matthew Ricco; as well as many beloved sister-in-laws, a brother-in-law and many loved nieces and nephews. Her children, their spouses, and grandchildren were the loves of her life.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank all of her loving friends at Liberty Place Apartments. Even though all of you came into her life in her later years you were like family to her and she loved all of you dearly. They would also like to thank the staff at Keystone Nursing and Rehab Center for all of the care and support over the last four weeks. And, a special thank you to the Palliative Care Staff and the wonderful nurses on 3 Center at Leominster Hospital who cared for her and did a wonderful job at keeping her comfortable in her last days. You are all a special group of people.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Association at www.lung.org. or mailed to 55 West Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
