Kelly A. Malatos, born on June 1, 1963, passed away on April 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, strength, and devotion to family.
Kelly lived a life marked by compassion and quiet resilience. She was known by those who loved her as a loving, kind, and thoughtful woman whose warmth touched everyone around her. Her positive attitude and inner strength carried her through many different days, and even in difficult times, she remained faithful, gracious, and deeply caring. Her loving heart will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Kelly devoted much of her working life to helping others. She served as a CNA with the American Red Cross and spent more than 30 years at LaChance before leaving due to medical reasons. Her long career reflected her generous spirit and her willingness to care for others with patience, dignity, and respect. Those who worked alongside her knew her as dependable and compassionate, and she approached her duties with the same sincerity that she brought to every part of her life.
Family was at the center of Kelly’s world. She was the beloved mother of Brandon Ryan Williams and Kassandra Mary Franklin, and the cherished grandmother of Brooke Straus, Christian Matthew Franklin, Evan Maloney Lindquist, and Lili-Ana Carol Gyles. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins who will remember her with love. Kelly is also survived by her brothers, James Malatos and his wife Rhonda, David Malatos and his wife Lisa, Michael Malatos and his wife Linda, and Scott Malatos and his wife Louisa, and Susan Malatos and her partner Elizabeth “Lisa.”. She is further survived by her step-siblings, Susan Regan and her husband Brian, Scott Paquet, Stephen Paquet and his wife Lisa, Stewart Paquet and his wife April. She was predeceased by her step-sister Sharon Von Eigan.
She was predeceased by her father, James F. Malatos, her mother, Eileen (Sullivan) Longey, her stepmother, Janet Malatos, and her grandparents, Soter E. Malatos, Elena “Molly” Mary Malatos, Ellen Sullivan, and William “Red” Sullivan. These family connections were an important part of her life, and she carried their memory with her always.
Kelly found joy in the simple and meaningful pleasures of life. She especially loved summers on Sunny Lane with her grandparents, and those memories remained close to her heart throughout her life. She enjoyed Cape Cod, reading, and spending time with her granddaughter Brooke and her family and grandchildren. She was also known for her love of the New England Patriots, watermelon, iced coffee, popsicles, especially coconut, and the comfort she found in candles and flowers. Her faithful nature and thoughtful ways were evident in the many small acts of kindness she shared with others.
Those who knew Kelly will remember her for the way she lived with sincerity and grace. She faced life with resilience and an open heart, and she gave her love freely to her family and friends. Her presence brought comfort, her laughter brought joy, and her steady spirit brought strength to those around her. Though her absence leaves a deep emptiness, the memories she created and the love she gave will remain a lasting source of comfort.
