Ki Hyon So

Ki Hyon So, age 88, of Leominster passed away peacefully in the comfort of his apartment on November 10th, 2022. 

Ki was born in 1933 in South Korea and got married to his wife, Chun Ok So in 1958. During and after his military service he worked as a driver. In 1986 he joined his eldest child, Yong, in immigrating to the US.  After coming to the United States, Ki worked in manufacturing for many years, and eventually earned his citizenship in 2010.
Ki enjoyed going for walks, watching home movies, talking with his children, dunkin’ donuts hot coffee, and his favorite pastime: driving.

Ki was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Chun Ok So. Ki leaves behind many loved ones; he had 4 children (and their spouses): Eldest Daughter Yong Saddler (Thomas Saddler), his only son Yong So (Hyesook So), second daughter Helen Sim (Jason Sim), and youngest daughter Yong Mi (Seong Wook Kim). Ki had 11 grandchildren (and their spouses): Rachel Babb (Travis Babb), Brett Rice (Sophia Lee), Drance Rice (Gillian Rice), Charles Sim (Christina Sim), Minsoo Yang, Jinsoo Yang, Sarah Sim, Ursula Rice, Boyeon Kim, Isaac So, and Daniel So.  Ki also leaves behind 4 great grandchildren: Jayden Babb, Ava Babb, Daisy Babb, and Sawyer Rice. 

Ki was a dedicated father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who doted over his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In his later years you could often find Ki helping out with yard work at his kids’ houses, watching korean dramas, or driving some of his younger family members around the area.

There will be a family gathering to celebrate Ki’s life and bid him farewell on November 16th, 2022. Flowers may be sent to the Richardson Funeral Home at 106 West St. Leominster MA, 01453.
