LEOMINSTER---Leo E. Blanchette, 81 years old of Palmyra, PA, formerly of Leominster, died Saturday, October 10, 2015 in the Palmyra Heath & Rehab Center. He is survived by his daughters Debra A. Roberge and her husband David of Hampton Falls, NH, Tina M. McGrath and her husband Thomas of Leominster and Jennifer Greene and her husband Robert of Leominster, sons Robert H. Blanchette and his wife Roberta Jean of Fitchburg and Alan J. Blanchette and his wife Debra of Gainesville, Georgia, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Leo was born September 17, 1934 in Leominster, son of Harry and Eva (Anderson) Blanchette and had moved to Pennsylvania in 1985. He was a 1952 graduate of Leominster High School and received an Associate’s Degree from Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner. Leo was a Korean War U.S. Navy Veteran and had worked in the plastic industry for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He was a former parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Leominster. Leo hobbies included playing golf and fishing.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster with a mass at 11 am in Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main Street, Leominster. Burial with military honors will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fitchburg. Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 19th from 9-10:30 am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
