Leslie Beberman Obituary

Lesley E. Beberman (Swanson), a beacon of kindness and creativity, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2024, in Leominster, MA. Born on April 24, 1941, in Woburn, MA, Lesley's life was a tapestry of dedication to education, a passion for the arts, and an unwavering love for her family and friends.

Lesley's journey through life was marked by her commitment to nurturing young minds. After earning both her Bachelor and Master degrees from Fitchburg State College in Elementary Education, she devoted over three decades to teaching at Reingold Elementary School. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom, touching the lives of countless students and colleagues with her warmth and wisdom.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Lesley was a talented artist and an avid reader. Her love for travel saw her exploring the globe, creating memories in every corner of the world. She was equally content indulging in her love for shopping or spending quiet moments surrounded by the laughter and stories of her beloved family and friends.

Lesley's life was a reflection of the quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Her kind and thoughtful nature was the cornerstone of her existence, and she succeeded in making the world a brighter place for all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Predeceased by her husband whom she spent 37 years with, Norman, Lesley's legacy of love continues through her extended family. She was the daughter of the late Ralph A. Swanson Sr. and Ellen (Calnan), and sister to the late Ralph Swanson Jr. and Karen M. DeCarolis. Brother-in-law Joseph DeCarolis Sr., and nephew Andrew Swanson also preceded her in passing.

Lesley leaves behind her sister-in-law Nancy Swanson, nephew Joseph DeCarolis Jr. and his wife Lisa of Leominster, and her nieces Marcia Murphy of Leominster, Margot and her husband James Xarras of Leominster, Christine Binkunski and her husband David of Leominster, and Katherine Hiltz and her husband Michael of Marlboro. Her step-children, Ellen Beberman, Julie Beberman, David Beberman, and Laura Tallman (Beberman), along with several great-nieces and nephews and grandchildren. Lesley E. Beberman's life was a masterpiece of compassion and creativity.

As we bid farewell to a soul who has left an indelible mark on this world, we take comfort in knowing that her legacy will continue to inspire and enrich the lives of those she touched. Her memory will be treasured and her presence deeply missed.
