Leslie Meredith Lynch (Pingree), age 83, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, in Lancaster, Massachusetts.
Born on October 3, 1942, in Norwich, Connecticut, Leslie was the daughter of Justine and Lester Pingree. Her early years in Connecticut laid the foundation for a life filled with creativity, compassion, and a deep appreciation for the arts.
Leslie married John "Jack" Lynch and together they built a life in the Hickory Hills area of Lunenburg. Though John preceded her in death, their bond remained a cherished part of her story.
A woman of many talents and interests, Leslie had an enduring love for travel that took her to places near and far. She found joy in exploring new cultures and experiences, always returning home with stories to share. Her artistic spirit shone brightly through her jewelry making—a craft she pursued with dedication and flair. She also had a remarkable talent for costume creation, lending her skills to the Groton Theater, Harvard Adult Community Theater and the Guild Players. Her work brought characters to life on stage and added magic to countless performances. Leslie also loved gardening and some would say had an unhealthy obsession with Hosta. She could often be found on the side of the road, spade in hand, adding to her collection.
Leslie’s appreciation for beauty extended beyond her own creations; she was an avid visitor to art museums, where she found inspiration and solace. A lifelong reader, she delighted in books and constantly kept on top of world events and news.
A devoted dog mom throughout her life, Leslie opened her heart and home to numerous pups over the years. Her compassion for animals was unwavering, and each dog she adopted became a beloved companion.
Leslie’s legacy lives on through her daughters: Diane Lynch (Jim) Midolo, Debbie (Doug) Franciosi, and Kerry (Shane) Huntley; as well as her grandchildren: John Lynch, Dylan Rathier, and Zoe Huntley. Her family carries forward the warmth of her spirit and the richness of her creative soul.
May Leslie’s memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
There will be a private burial for family only at a later date.
A celebration of her life will take place on February 21st for family and close friends from 2pm- 6pm at Legends Grille & Sports Bar, 68 Airport Rd, Fitchburg MA 01420. Please wear your brightest outfit to honor Leslie (she was not a fan of wearing black to mourn).
In lieu of flowers you may make a donation in Leslie’s name to your local animal shelter.
