LEOMINSTER---Lorraine A. (Friske) Gorgoglione, 87 years old, of Leominster died Thursday, December 1, 2016 in Leominster Crossings. She is survived by her son Nicholas J. Gorgoglione, Jr. of Leominster, daughter Joyce M. Leger of Leominster and grandson Nicholas J. Leger of Boston. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas J. Gorgoglione in 1986 and sister Doris Howard in 2015.
Lorraine was born June 23, 1929 in Leominster, daughter of the late Albert and Albina (Lamoureux) Friske and graduated from Leominster High School in 1947. Early in her career, Lorraine worked as a secretary for local attorneys, and moved to Kansas City where she worked in the legal department at Prudential Insurance and enjoyed living at Penn Lodge with other young professional women. After she married, Lorraine was a secretary in the Leominster School System, working at both Leominster High School and Carter Junior High School for many years until her retirement in 1991. Lorraine especially cherished her years working at Carter Jr. High, where she met many of what would become her lifelong friends. Lorraine was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Leominster.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Leominster Crossing's Harbor Unit, for the loving care they provided to Lorraine throughout her residence there. Lorraine’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 6th from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral home, 106 West Street, Leominster with a mass at 11 am in Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main Street, Leominster. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 5th from 4-7 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
