Lucie Henry Obituary

Lucie M. (Leger) Henry, a beacon of kindness and gentleness, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, at her home in Leominster, MA. She passed after a courageous fight of cancer. Born to Eddie and Leonie Leger, on November 7, 1947, in Moncton, New Brunswick, and raised in St Paul, New Brunswick. Lucie's life was a testament to the power of love, compassion, and the enduring strength of family bonds.

Lucie's journey led her from the scenic landscapes of Canada to the heart of Leominster, where she established a life alongside her beloved husband, Robert R. Henry. Together, they nurtured a family that would grow to include their children, Norman (Tonya) Henry and Linda (Eddie) LeBlanc, as well as their grandchildren, Megan, Robert, John, and Melanie. Lucie's legacy continued with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Eli, Emillia, and Aria, who brought her immeasurable happiness. Lucie's life was marked by the close relationships she maintained with her sister-in-law, Janice Pellerin and many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She also leaves her loving brothers Aurel (May) Leger and Zoel (Late Rosella) Leger, and her brother-in-law Lenny Belliveau.

She was predeceased by her adored granddaughter, Devin Henry, on June 16, 2011, as well as her brothers, Donald and Eli; sister, Lena Belliveau and stepbrothers, Norman, Yvon and Ulysse. And her sister-in-law Marie Leger.

Known for her ability to listen intently and offer guidance with both wisdom and warmth, Lucie was a confidante to many. Her quiet and incredibly sweet nature was complemented by a spirited resolve to speak her mind when it mattered most. Lucie's loving presence was a comfort to her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated medical professionals who provided Lucie with exceptional care during her final days. Special thanks are given to UMass and Burbank Hospitals, Dr. Susan Sweizig, Dr. Mark Winokur, and nurse Barbara Wilson, whose compassion and expertise were a great source of comfort to Lucie and her loved ones. Her spirit, characterized by love and gentleness, will continue to guide and inspire her family for generations to come.
