LEOMINSTER --- Marcia A. (Gionet) Gardner, 87, of Leominster, MA, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2023.
She was born on July 16, 1936 in Ayer Hospital to the late Henry and Arlene (Gardner) Gionet. Marcia was a dedicated and loving wife to Richard Gardner. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared countless memories. She is also survived by her son Richard Gardner Jr and his wife Michelle (Gloucester, VA), her daughter Carrie Marcil and her husband Kenneth (Seekonk, MA), her grandson Zachary Gardner and his wife Kiersten, her granddaughter Valerie Milliron, her granddaughter Samantha Marcil, her granddaughter Teagan Mersereau and her husband Samuel, as well as her great grandsons Waylon, Townes, Landon, and Liam. Marcia also cherished her beloved nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her brother Frank Gionet and her sister Vandy Tolson.
Marcia attended Ayer High School and later pursued her higher education at Burdett College in Boston, MA. She started her career as a Medical Secretary at Fort Devens. Marcia dedicated many years of her life working within the Leominster School system, with her last position as the Leominster High Guidance Secretary. She also supported her husband’s antique and auction business, keeping the books & writing the auction ads.
Marcia cherished her faith and was a devout member of St. Anthony of Padua where she found solace, comfort and strength. Marcias’s enjoyment came in cooking, sewing, quilting, journaling family history, traveling, family photos and spending quality time with her friends. Marcia’s lifetime passion was in creating lasting memories and traditions with her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren, including crafting, baking, events and vacations.
Marcia`s funeral will take place on Monday, December 11th from the Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West St Leominster with a funeral mass at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 14 Phoenix St, Shirley, MA. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday, December 10th from 3-5 PM.
