Margaret L. LeClair, affectionately known as Peggy to her friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on October 17, 2024, at the Fitchburg Rehab Hospice after a rapid and courageous battle with lymphoma.
Born on March 1, 1948, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, Peggy was a cherished daughter of the late Howard E. and Mary Geraldine (Landry) Pinault. Peggy grew up in the town of Shirley and graduated from Ayer High School. She raised her children, Christine Lussier and Thomas LeClair, in Fitchburg.
She moved to the sunny shores of Florida in the early 1990's where she embraced the Gulf of Mexico's warmth and beauty. Eventually, Peggy returned to Massachusetts, settling in Leominster to be closer to her adored grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable happiness. Professionally, Peggy was known for her strong work ethic and amiable personality, which shone brightly in her role as the property manager of Vanderbilt Towers in Naples, Florida. She found her true calling, though, as the Keno Lady at Barbers Crossing, where her love for numbers and her sociable nature made her a favorite among patrons. Peggy was an avid reader who loved cards and game nights with her siblings and wonderful cousins, sharing joyous moments and creating wonderful memories. She also loved watching movies. Above all, her children and grandchildren were the center of her universe, and her love for them was a beacon of warmth and guidance. Her ability to make friends wherever she went was a testament to her kind heart and infectious smile. Peggy's presence was a gift to those who knew her, and her memory will continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration.
Peggy is survived by her loving family, including her daughter, Christine Lussier of Fitchburg; her son, Thomas LeClair of Reidville, South Carolina; her beloved grandchildren Emily and Allison Lussier, McKenzie and Tucker Pappas, and Isabella and Olivia LeClair, her sister Nancy Zellers and partner George Ross of Preston Hollow, New York, her sister Annette Jones of Hollywood, Florida, her brothers, Howard Pinault of Shirley and James Pinault of Ashland, as well as nieces, nephews and many loving cousins. She joins in eternity her brother, Gene Pinault, who predeceased her in 1998, and her niece, Louise Pinault, who passed away in 2023.
Peggy LeClair's legacy is one of joy, resilience, and the enduring power of family bonds. Her laughter, her love for life's simple pleasures, and her unwavering support of her loved ones will be cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her. Peggy will be dearly missed, but the light she brought into this world will continue to shine in the hearts of those she touched. Her spirit, undimmed by time, will live on forever.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 3, from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with a service at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home.
