Maria (Passarello) Baldassarre, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025, after a long battle with dementia. She was born in Palermo, Italy in 1944, the daughter of Nunzia (LaBianca) Passarello and Domenico Passarello, and the eldest sibling of Antonia Di Dia and Domenico ”Mimmo” Passarello II.
Maria is survived by her husband of 54 years, Peter Baldassarre of Leominster; daughters Helen Zeik and her husband Todd of Great Barrington, and Barbara Rose and her husband Richard of Townsend. She also leaves behind her four cherished grandchildren Abigail and Megan Zeik, and Jacob and Noah Rose.
Maria was a talented seamstress, working with many of the local bridal shops for over 30 years. Later she worked for Leominster and Maynard Public Schools where she enjoyed interacting with the students while she served her community. Those who knew Maria will remember her outgoing, spontaneous personality and her innate ability to show love and kindness to everyone she encountered.
Calling hours will take place at Richardson’s Funeral Home in Leominster on Tuesday, April 29 from 4-6 P.M. with a service to follow in the funeral home at 6:00 P.M. Burial will be private.
