LEOMINSTER ---- Marjorie (Lanciani) McNeill, 82, of Leominster, MA (formerly of Sterling) passed away in UMass Medical Center Worcester surrounded by her family on December 26, 2020 following complications of a heart attack on Christmas Day.
Born February 26, 1938 in Clinton Hospital, she was the daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Bartlett) Lanciani. She married the love of her life, Laurence C. McNeill on October 22, 1960 at St. Richard’s Church in Sterling and moved to Leominster. She attended the Buttrick Grammar School in Sterling and was in the first graduating class of Wachusett Regional High School in Holden in 1956. While in high school, her Youth Leadership Church Group traveled to New York City where they had lunch with Eleanor Roosevelt, met Albert Einstein, and on a later trip were served a picnic lunch by Norman Rockwell’s wife, Mary Barstow in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.
Margie worked as a Keypunch Operator for Norton Company of Worcester for many years. She was a Licensed Realtor for Foster-Healey Real Estate for 40 years and had her Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) designation. Marge was always happy to answer any and all real estate questions.
Margie was an avid yard sale fan, enjoyed watching NASCAR and the New England Patriots. A very generous person, she always put others before herself. You would recognize her infectious laugh anywhere. Friends, family and customers enjoyed her wonderful sense of humor. A straight shooter, she always told it like it was: good, bad or indifferent. Her final words on a phone call were always, “Stay Strong!”
She leaves her husband of 60 years, Larry, two daughters Susan McNeill Spuhler and her husband Thomas Spuhler of Westford, and Anne McNeill of Leominster; her sister Marie Mack of Fitchburg; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private due to state Covid-19 Restrictions.
