FITCHBURG --- Mark Steven Bigelow died peacefully Tuesday, August 31, 2021, son of Virginia (Lakso) and Roger G. Bigelow. He was born August 4, 1956 and graduated from Leominster High School in 1974 where he was active in the theater arts tech crew. Mark worked for Victory Markets, Twin City Liquors, Russell’s Package Store and Leominster News.
Mark enjoyed spending his Summers at Wyman Pond and later camping with family and friends at Lake Dennison. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, playing cards and being with friends. Mark was also very active at First Baptist Church of Fitchburg and served the past several years as Treasurer for the Central Mass Baptist Association. Mark was a member of Summit Elder Care and the Fitchburg Senior Center and the New England Amputee Association.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Diane (Loter) Bigelow; two sons, Steven Bigelow of Hopkinton and daughter in law Taryn and Michael Bigelow of Fitchburg; two grandchildren, Lilah and Joshua. He also leaves behind his sister, Wendy Bigelow of Leominster; a brother, Kevin Bigelow of Peterborough, NH; three nephews and a niece; many aunts, uncles, cousins and many longtime friends.
The family would like to thank Summit Elder Care, Burbank Cancer Center and the staff at Leominster Hospital for taking care of Mark.
Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Fitchburg on Saturday, September 11 with calling hours starting at 9:30 am with a memorial service beginning at 10:30 am.
