Mark Padovano Obituary

Mark Padovano, 71, a cherished son, brother and friend passed away peacefully on June 7, 2024, in Fitchburg, MA. Born in Leominster, MA, and a graduate of Leominster High School, he is predeceased by his loving parents, Robert and Lorraine Padovano. Mark's legacy is carried on through his devoted sister, Rhonda (Padovano) Ollquist, and his brother, Tom Padovano, and his five nieces and nephews who will forever hold dear their memories of Mark.

Mark had been a professional painter by trade, taking great pride in the quality of his work. While Mark’s life journey was not always an easy one, we will remember him for his many positive accomplishments and attributes. He gained local notoriety for saving the life of a man by literally lifting a car off the man who was being crushed. By God’s grace, the help of AA, and his own determination, Mark gave up alcohol and was alcohol-free for the last 16 years of his life during which he also quit cigarettes. Mark’s friends will remember him as exceptionally loyal and generous and he was known for bringing warm clothing to the homeless in Fitchburg during cold winter times. Having a great (albeit “unique”!) sense of humor, Mark was always quick with a joke or two. In his later years, Mark developed a passion for boldly colored artwork and his pictures currently adorn the walls of many local offices. We will miss him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mark’s favorite charity, Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Visitation/ memorial service will be held at Richardson’s Funeral Home, 106 West St., Leominster, MA on Fri., June 21st between 5:00 - 6:30 pm.  Burial at St Leo’s Cemetery will be private.
