FRAMINGHAM --- Maryann (Boyce) Kilcoyne, formerly of Osterville and Leominster, MA, died peacefully Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham, MA.
Maryann was born on July 20, 1927, in Worcester, MA and was the eldest child of Charles A. Boyce and Hannah A. (Power) Boyce. She is survived by her 5 children, Thomas A., III and his wife, Cathleen, of Hudson, MA, Richard C. and his wife, Sharon, of Gardner, MA, James P. and his wife, Liza, of South Hero, VT, Peter F. of Norwood, MA, and Mary K. Scotten and her husband, Thomas, of Osterville. She leaves 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her husband of 65 years, Thomas Aloysius Kilcoyne, Jr., predeceased her, as did her sister, Alice Boyce Smith and brothers Charles, Jr., Ralph, and Donald.
Following Maryann’s graduation from Regis College in Weston, MA, where she studied mathematics, she worked in the actuarial department of a life insurance company. It was during her time at Regis that she met and later married Tom, the love of her life. They raised their children in Leominster. Following a stroke she suffered during childbirth, she faced many challenges and adversities in her life, which she met with grace, dignity, and endless optimism. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
She loved to discuss politics, the state of the economy, and how well her asset allocation fund was doing. She spent countless hours knitting sweaters for each of her grandchildren, many of which are still making the rounds among her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed time spent with many lifelong friends and was active in her community, especially the Women’s Guilds at St. Leo’s Church in Leominster and Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Osterville. She was happiest in Tom’s company – they were inseparable companions.
There will be no calling hours. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, December 7, at 11am at St. Leo’s Church, 128 Main St., Leominster, MA. Burial will be at a later date at St. Leo Cemetery, Leominster.
