Matt was loved by many and was talented in so many ways. He was a true patriot dedicating his life to service for his Country and Community.

Matt’s passion was aviation. He trained as a Naval Aviator during WWII and held ratings as an instructor pilot well into his 90s. He was a combat veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific on USS PC 465. He was featured as “The Policeman in the Sky” in a special issue of the Sunday Worcester Telegram. LT Matteo Ciccone retired from the Leominster Police Department after 40 years including interim service as Chief.

Matt married the love of his life, Gerry Sala, residing and raising their family in Leominster. Recently, they celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary.
