LEOMINSTER --- Maurice Clifford, 84 of Leominster, passed away on December 28 th at The Highlands in Fitchburg. He was the son of Harold E. Clifford and Sara (Blood) Speed. He worked at Samson Cordage in Shirley, Atlas Industries in Ayer and retired from Montachusett Screen Plate in Fitchburg.
Maurice was an avid sportsman and belonged to the Leominster Sportsman Club. He had a very creative mind. He loved to build RC planes, classic electronic organs and clocks of all sizes from mantle to grandfather.
He leaves his sister Beverly (Clifford-Gage) Stephens of Shirley, 2 nephews Robert (Carol) Gage of Shirley and Brian (Jo Ann) Gage of Leominster, 2 nieces Barbara Towle of Ravensdale, WA, and Brenda Hennemann of Gardner. He also leaves his half-brother Richard MacEwen of Marlboro and 2 half nieces, Thelma Johnson and Sonja Langlais of Phillipston. He was predeceased by a half-sister Thelma Davis.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
