Melinda A. (Cote Salliby) McCaffrey

On June 27, 2022, Melinda (Cote) (Salliby) McCaffrey of Leominster, Massachusetts went to be with her precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a short illness.

She was born on October 17, 1956 in Manchester, New Hampshire to Marcel and Marion (Maser) Cote. She graduated from Manchester West High School in 1974 and then Zion Bible College in Rhode Island. She was New Hampshire’s 1974 Junior Miss.

Melinda and her late husband Robert Salliby traveled the country doing ministry work for several years. She worked at Leominster Assembly of God as the pastor’s secretary and most recently as a Unit Secretary at St. Vincent’s Hospital until retirement.

One of her main joys in life was using her beautiful singing voice to lead worship services. She was a gentle soul who made everyone she met feel important.

Melinda is survived by her husband John (Jay) McCaffrey, mother Marion Cote, daughter Christine Abbott and husband Tyler, step-children Kristie Laskes and husband Matt, Jake McCaffrey and wife Maria, Luke McCaffrey and wife Jenna, and Mark McCaffrey, sisters Maureen Hall and husband Jon, and Marilyn Cote, as well as five grandchildren, Jack, Aleesia, William, Robert, and Lillyanne, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at New Life Church, 834 Main Street in Leominster, Massachusetts on Friday July 1. Calling hours are 10am-12pm in the church with a funeral service at 12pm. Burial will be immediately following at Forest Hill Cemetery in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.
