Michael Enright Obituary

Leominster and Greenville, NH—Michael  E. "Eddie" Enright, 99, of Leominster passed away on Tuesday December 27, 2022 in Leominster.

He was born in 1923 in Acton, MA, son of Joseph and Nellie Enright. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, and after his Naval service became a longtime employee for Simonds Saw & Steel working there for 38 years, retiring in 1984.

Eddie was an avid hunter and fisherman and he traveled throughout New England, searching for the best fishing holes and hunting areas. He especially enjoyed his deep-sea fishing trips to Marathon, Florida with his son Mike.  Eddie also enjoyed going to Mohegan Sun with his family and friends on the KMART bus, and was a big fan of Boston sports, cheering on the Red Sox and Patriots.

After his retirement from Simonds, Eddie and his wife Shirley spent several years buying and selling antiques and collectibles, specializing in antique lamps and lighting, a hobby where they developed many close friends and customers.

He is survived by his daughter Linda McQuade and her husband Michael of Leominster, MA, his brother Joseph of Minnesota, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley, his son Michael, his brothers John, Bill, sisters Rita Champagne, Aida Hecker, and Patricia Enright.

The family would like to thank the Heywood Wakefield Commons Assisted Living, and the Leominster Life Care Center for their kind and compassionate care they provided, anyone wishing to make a donation can do so to one’s favorite charity.

Per Eddie’s request there are no calling hours and services are private.
