WESTMINSTER---Michael P. McKenna, 60 years old, of Westminster, formerly of Leominster, died Saturday, October 10, 2015 in HealthAlliance-Leominster Hospital after being stricken ill at home. He is survived by his daughter Kelly A. McKenna of Lunenburg, son David M. McKenna of North Providence, RI, brother James McKenna of Leominster, sisters Kathryn Gabriel, Colleen Milano, Patricia Tata and Joan Knight all of Leominster, 4 grandchildren, Jayden, Nathaniel, Daniel and Gabriella McKenna, and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas McKenna.
Michael was born August 18, 1955 in Leominster, son of Thomas C. and Joan M. (Buckley) McKenna and had lived in Westminster for several years. He graduated from Leominster High School in 1973 and from the former Coyne Electrical and Technical School in Boston. Michael was a Licensed Electrician and had proudly owned and operated McKenna Electrical in Leominster for many years. He loved spending his time at his home on Wyman Lake, cruising in his pontoon boat, barbecuing, and visiting with family and friends. He would give a person the shirt off of his back if they needed it. Michael was a stubborn, handsome, blue-eyed Irishman who will be painfully missed.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster with a mass at 10 am in St. Cecilia’s Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will be in St. Leo’s Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 13th from 5-7 pm in the funeral home.
