Michael Seretto Obituary

LEOMINSTER --- Michael A. Seretto, 67, passed away at his home, surrounded by his beloved family on June 25, 2022, after a long, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Mike was born on January 24, 1955, in Fitchburg, son of Angelo and Helen (Rodriquenz) Seretto. He was a 1973 graduate of St. Bernard’s High School.

Mike is survived by his mother Helen, his wife Diane L. (Goodale) Seretto of Leominster, his daughters; Alessandra (Seretto) Chryst and her husband James, Cristina (Seretto) DiVito and her husband Peter, his sons; Niccolo Seretto and his wife Kerry, and Vincenzo Seretto, along with 9 grandchildren, mother in-law, brothers and sisters-in law, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom he loved beyond measure.

Mike was a dedicated, long-time employee of Digital Equipment Corporation and remained through numerous mergers with Compaq and Hewlett Packard. He could be found working the “paper aisle” at Leominster Market Basket on Sunday and claimed by doing so, “maintained his youth”. Mike was no stranger to working hard and always gave 110% to all he did, achieving every goal he set his mind to.

His mantra of giving 110% began with family first, always. Dedicated to his family, his pride and joy, never missing any school or sporting event. He was self-proclaimed videographer capturing every moment, never missing the “big play” or any cheerleading competition. He was always our biggest fan. Becoming a Papa was his most treasured achievement. Mike was happiest when all of his children and grandchildren were home.

To say Mike was an exercise and health enthusiast is an under-statement. He began his passion for running with the start of the 1980’s, joining Central Mass Striders. He could often be seen running along-side his dad. Striving with every run and road race to be better than the last. With his dedication and perseverance, he completed 20+ Boston Marathons and just as many qualifying races. His passion for physical fitness extended to those around him, as he led and instructed numerous aerobic and fitness classes throughout the years. His new found love of cycling led to a group of guy friends he worked out with who called themselves the GLC – “good clean livin.” His passion for old and new sports cars flourished into a business when he started his own detailing shop in his garage, beginning with his own Cadillacs and Alfa Romeos. His attention to detail did not end with cars, in fact spread to his perfectly manicured yard. Mike spent late summer evening hours with the goal of the greenest lawn in the neighborhood.

Much like his road race career, he always pushed those around him to do better, and be better. Mike’s fighting spirit, work ethic, and dedication to his family is commended. Taken from us way too soon, he will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father, papa, brother, son, and a true friend to all. He used his kind heart to always lend a helping hand, keep us smiling, and his fighting spirit and power of positivity to inspire us all.
