Michele (Mike) A. Rafaele, 67 years old, of Leominster, died suddenly, and unexpectedly Saturday, September 17, 2022.

Mike was born on February 12,1955 in Leominster, the son of Archie and Rose (Zanghi) Rafaele, and, with the exception work related stints in Missouri and Virginia, was a lifelong Leominster resident. He was predeceased by his father, Archie, in 2002 and brother Monty in 2015.

He leaves his son, Santino of Leominster, the love of his life and best friend Susanne Stead of Leominster, his mother Rose of Lancaster and his brother Anthony of Westminster, his nephew Scott Raffaele of California along with countless friends and acquaintances.

Mike graduated from Leominster High School in 1973 and was an outstanding defensive lineman on the LHS football team. He also excelled in gymnastics and all sports and was a rare athlete who possessed speed, size, and strength. Mike opened the first weightlifting health club in Leominster, The Nautilus, and was a body builder in his youth with a number of competition wins in New England. He was also a loving father to his son,and was very involved with his son’s life.

Mike served on the Board of Directors of Massachusetts Little League Baseball in the early 1980’s and was instrumental in bringing the Massachusetts State Tournament to Leominster’s Ronnie Bachand Memorial Field in 1983.

At the time of his death, Mike was employed by Montachusett Area Regional Transit (MART) and was a proud member of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 690 having served as its Secretary and President.

Fiercely proud of his Italian heritage, Mike`s passing has left a huge hole in the hearts of family and friends who were always entertained by his stories and sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.
