Patricia Harris Obituary

Patricia L. (Prado) Harris, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024, at the age of 85, in Fitchburg, MA. Born on May 11, 1939, in Leominster. Patricia's early years in Leominster were filled with the warmth of a close-knit community and the joy of family life.

Her father, in a significant family milestone, changed their surname from Gonzalez to Prado upon moving to the United States, a legacy Patricia carried with pride throughout her life.

She spent her younger years working at Babe's Diner and Ice Cream, a time that she always remembered fondly. Patricia's professional life was characterized by her role as a cafeteria worker for the Leominster Schools, where she was known for her kindness and the care she put into her work. Later, she became the office manager for Harris Tool & Die, demonstrating her versatility and commitment to her family's business. Her work ethic and amiable nature made her a beloved figure among her colleagues and the many students she served over the years.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Patricia's life was deeply enriched by her family. She was the cherished wife of the late William W. Harris, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage of 60 years. Together, they raised three sons: John and his wife Cheryl of New Ipswich, NH; Timothy and his husband Tony Garcia of Fitchburg; and Randy and his wife Lori of Milanville, PA. Patricia's legacy also includes her ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored and who brought her immense joy. Patricia's love extended to her niece Darlene Merrill and nephew Kevin Prado, who will fondly remember their aunt's warmth and guidance. She was predeceased by her brothers, Danny and Raymond Prado, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories.

A woman of many interests, Patricia found pleasure in the simple things in life. She was an avid camper, finding solace in the beauty of nature and the companionship of her family during their outdoor adventures. Knitting was another of Patricia's passions, a skill she passed down to her grandchildren, along with countless stories and lessons. Above all, time spent with her grandchildren was her most treasured activity, each moment filled with love and laughter.

Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
