Peter Scott Avery

Peter Avery, 75, passed away surrounded by his love and closest family and friends after his long battle with Alzheimer’s and Diabetes. He is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Priscilla Avery.

Peter was an avid music lover and DJ for decades. Music was always playing in his home, and he was forever dancing, his joy was infectious. Known for his big heart, goofy spirit, and endless personality that could never be contained, Peter filled every room with warmth and laughter. He adored animals and found comfort in his beloved dogs, Toby and Skylar.
Over the years, Peter worked for General Electric in Lynn, Ford Motor Company, and later with Laidlaw/First Student in Fitchburg. While he was proud of his work, his true passion was his family. His wife was his soulmate and best friend, and his grandchildren were the absolute light of his eyes.

Peter leaves behind his children: Adrianna Picozzi (Avery) and her husband Nicholas, parents of his grandchildren Julian, Aria, and Ella; Timothy Avery; Allyson Avery and her fiancé Shawn Bundy; Kathryn Avery and her fiancé Dylan Waldron; and Juliette Iozzo (Avery) and her husband Coty. He is also survived by his daughters Desiree Avery and Jacinda Avery, and by their children, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Peter was predeceased by his parents, George and Dellis Avery, and by his son, Phillip Avery.

Peter will be remembered for the joy he brought to others, his endless love for his family, and the music and laughter that followed him everywhere. His spirit, full of warmth and personality, will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A visitation with family will be on Tuesday September 9th from 5 ~ 7pm at Richardson Funeral Home 106 West St. Leominster. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 12 at the Eastwood Club, 389 Townsend St. in Fitchburg from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
