Philip Farinelli III Obituary

Philip Farinelli III, 72, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on May 19, 2026, at home, with his loving wife Jackie by his side. Born February 11, 1954, in Leominster, MA to the late Philip Jr. and Sheila (Cormier) Farinelli. Philip carried with him the strength, warmth, and steady presence that would define the way he loved and served others, including his country, as a proud member of the Army during the Vietnam War era.

Philip studied at Johnson & Wales University and began his career in the hospitality industry. He enjoyed serving as a waiter and maître de at many of Rhode Island’s finest restaurants. He later moved on to the entertainment industry working at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, CT and later at Bally’s in Lincoln, RI.

Philip was a devoted Christian whose faith gave shape to the way he lived every day. He believed in kindness, loyalty, hard work, and the importance of family and friends, and tried to reflect those values in every part of his life. Those who knew him will remember a man who was genuine and dependable, one who could be counted on for a thoughtful word, a helping hand, or a well-timed laugh. His life was marked by humility and grace, and his dynamic personality would light up the room as he filled it with song and dance.

He is predeceased by his brothers Michael and Marc and survived by his sister Lisa. He also leaves his two nieces, Vanessa and Christina, his loving aunt Marylou (Auntie Mary) and her husband Anthony (Tony) Pappani, as well as many loving cousins.

Philip’s wife would like to express her gratitude to the unwavering support and compassion Meredith Anne Sherman from Daymark Health provided to them both. She would also like to thank his Bally’s family for everything they did for Philip: it meant the world to him and brought great comfort in his final days.
