LEOMINSTER---Philip O. Richard, 85 years old, of Leominster, died peacefully on Saturday, April 23, 2016 in HealthAlliance-Leominster Hospital. He is survived by his sons Charles M. Richard of Daytona Beach, FL, Anthony P. Richard and his wife Jennifer of Templeton, sisters Simone Mulkern of Holden, Bernice Dickinson and Adrienne LeBlanc both of Leominster, grandchildren AJ, Shaeleigh, Camden and Zaden Richard all of Templeton, several nieces and nephews. Phil was predeceased by his wife, Jacqueline B. (Serafino) Richard in 1987, brother Alcide Richard in 2005 and sister Alvida Cormier in 2014
Phil was born September 21, 1930 in Fitchburg son of Max and Ann (Babineau) Richard and had lived in Leominster for many years. He graduated from St. Bernard’s High School in Fitchburg and from the Mass. College of Pharmacy in Boston. He was a Korean War U.S. Air Force Veteran. Phil had worked as a Pharmacist at the Walter E. Fernald State School in Waltham and Templeton for many years and he was a member of the American Legion in Cleghorn.
Phil was a kind, giving, warm person whose purpose in life was to bring joy to everyone around him. Even though he will be missed greatly, he has left a legacy of great memories, which will be talked about for generations to come.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 10 am in St. Joseph’s Church, 49 Woodland Street, Fitchburg. Burial with military honors will be in St. Leo’s Cemetery, Leominster. A calling hour will be held prior to the mass from 9-10 am in the church.
